    The saying goes that you shouldn’t make your hobbies your job, because that sucks the fun out of it.

    I’m starting to realize it’s not the “job” part that sucks the fun out of it, it’s the “capitalism” part.

    It’s not working on deadlines, it’s your self absorbed manager who makes twice your wage yet knows nothing about what you actually do setting unreasonable deadlines while acting like you’re the problem.

    It’s not being told what to do, it’s being told to do unnecessary boilerplate bullshit because you have to go through countless middlemen to get it done, it’s being forced to do things worse because someone higher up the chain who doesn’t do it thinks they know better than the ones that actually do it.

    When you do something as a hobby, you own the means of production. That’s why you enjoy doing it.
