I know what you’re going for, but it’s the same middling-funny joke with either gender. Eye roll, minor dopamine hit, move on.
I mostly agree that it’s the same bad joke BUT swapping the genders puts it into “bad taste” terrority given that women being held by their partners against their will isn’t some absurd proposal
That meme left a bad taste too. The minor shock at the terrible joke was what gave the dopamine hit. Abuse is abuse, no matter the gender.
Now imagine the same post saying girlfriend instead of boyfriend and having over 350 upvotes.
And this children is how domestic violence against men is stigmatized by society as something to laugh about…
