Swimming in full kit was not usual for Roman auxiliaries - it is noted by Roman accounts to have been a very specialized (and desirable) skill amongst the tribes of the Batavi, who furnished elite auxiliary forces for the Roman Empire.
What weight are we talking about for a full kit?
20 - 30 Kg (around 40 - 45 pounds ) ?
Between mail, helmet, weapons, and shield, probably around there, yes.
Doesn’t sound like much, but must have been pretty tough
That sounds like a lot to swim with any distance, imho, it lowers your buoyancy, and limits your movements bcs you are warring it.
