Hi everyone, I’m Jeff.
You may have noticed there’s been more posts here the past couple of months*. They say the grass is greener where you water it. I’d like there to be a viable alternative forum for gamedev conversation aside from the r/gamedev reddit. I have a lot of respect for the work the mods have put in over the years, and love for that community in general. But a lot of us are here because we’re not fans of Reddit the company, or we have a general disdain for a monocultural Internet. I want us to have options, and this is something I can do to help that. So let me know if there’s anything I can do to help this community or help you. You can help too, by submitting gamedev stories/posts you think are interesting.
About me: I’m a hobbyist with a long time interest in game development and the video game industry. By day I work in local news, so my interest in news/journalism is also pretty high, and (*)sometimes my schedule is screwy. But I asked for control of this community a sorry time ago , and I hope I do right by it. You can help by posting things you find interesting as well. If there’s something in particular that could be arranged that you think would benefit a forum such as this, let me know!
And remember, if you’re a Mastodon user, you can follow this community on there, at gamedev@lemmy.world, and any replies to posts will show up here as comments on that post!
