No mention from anyone under 50 in this article. Tories, gammon, and the worst of the borders on display here. Nevermind the decarbonisation this could bring, or changes being proposed to power pricing meaning they could be paying next to zero in the future, or jobs to the area - which is struggling. No no, some containers in a field is going to really destroy the place they say
Is there a link to the actual proposal? The community published map does look rather strange but I imagine there’s some logic behind it in the official proposal
https://eplanning.scotborders.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=RXKTE7NT0BQ00&activeTab=summary - this looks to be the exact proposal if you would like to be a democratic citizen and exercise your right of reply. Or just read some more, but you ken fit? Ah’ve met a few councillors in mah day, an they akshuly wanna hear frae yeas!
Thanks! This is just one of the six but it looks absolutely fine. Obvs not ideal that it’s greenfield site but it’s next to the existing sub station which is logical, and there’s some provision for green screen from the road. And 500MW storage is pretty damn impressive.
They should just spend a bit extra and build a bunker, can’t moan about what you can’t see!
Or plant some trees, what a horrible thing to see!
Yeah, that was my thought when I saw the headline.
Yeah, it’s never fun having something industrial built in a small town, but it’s a great opportunity to negotiate some improvements like green spaces around it, which is a triple dip into the win pool for any town.
