  • Out of interest, why do you think that?

It’s often said that school shootings are more prevalent because the media has hyped these people up to be martyrs, etching their names into history and being revered by those that agree.

Your country is no shortage of poor, ill whackos with easy access to weapons. If this Luigi dude does end up being charged, or perhaps even go through some legal fuckery because juries side with him against the word of law, what makes you think that someone in a similar situation doesn’t look at the next CEO on the list and shoot them in the back?

I’m actually surprised it took this long.

  • While I agree in principle, a blanket enforcement seems like a great way for companies to purposely tank smaller entities just to get hold of their code/IP. Alongside this, it probably doesn’t help to just release the code, when these devices will run on web services, or perhaps even proprietary tech.

In this case, it would be a great way to dissolve the company. Switch the endpoints over to a custodian project, have the servers owned and run through a community campaign, and open source the code and artifacts.

  • That’s all well and good, but don’t just sit back and hope that healthcare magically improves, or that other healthcare CEO’s start getting their life claims denied.

Take the current well of anger, and point it towards politicians that will actually fight for free healthcare. It’s not only a public health emergency, but also a “crime” emergency, and one of safety.

It’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and laugh. It’s slightly harder to sit behind a keyboard and email your local reps. It’s again slightly harder to rally at your local reps office hours or town halls for free healthcare.

  • I can see why people are starting to get a little more concerned with regards to western retaliation, given that there aren’t many more steps that can be taken before NATO finally bite the bullet, bring Ukraine into the fold, and formally enter the conflict.

It feels like there’s a game of chicken being played by all sides, all while Ukraine lose lives and land.

What surprises me is the lack of opposition that Putin seems to have. Close to a million Russian lives are lost, their economy is crumbling, yet no one seems to think of officially or unofficially offering a way out for the Russians. While Russia is arguably at the point of no return, a new leader could pull out immediately, rebuild relationships with the west, and transform an economy overnight. All they need to do, at a high level, is not be such a cunt.
