Essentially you have it right, although I wouldnt say charities should dissolve as a rule. If there aren’t enough people to do the work with the right goal in mind though I dont think the answer is to pay more and get capitalists in the door.

I have a strong aversion to greed minded people in general though so I’m very biased here.

I think its the mentality in america of, “whatever I need to do to get ‘mine’ is good”.

Theres a reason people ask “was it worth it” about nearly everything here. I dont know how to convince people theyd be happier if greed didnt drive their values.

Jumping to conclusions is about claiming things are or will happen without reason. You could be right and jump to a conclusion at the same time.

I will say this election didnt change who America is as a country though.

For my wife, it never occurred to her that she could trust tiktok influencers far less than even corporate journalists. They have to ethical requirements on tiktok, no verified sources or corrections or redactions, or any accountability at all.

I had to point that out over multiple videos, although to be fair some of the people on there do put up a front like they are legit to trick people into taking them seriously.

I think even people who use facebook know its a bad thing.

Competent people who don’t care about the cause shouldnt take the job at all. People earning 8 figures shouldnt expect to make the same at a charity. Greed and altruism are values or qualities a person can possess and I dont think they can exist in the same person.

The United Health CEO thought he was altruistic, his family does as well. Its pretty clear the vast majority of people see greed there, not altruism.

Greedy people simply shouldnt be in charge of helping people.

Its absolutely worse that he did all his awful shit for the sake of money.

Plenty of non-american charities dont over pay people. You would expect people who work in charity to not be greedy. Greed is when you take more than you should because you think you deserve it.

Not everyone jumps to conclusions as quickly as you, its not a race do see who can declare something fascist as prematurely as possible.

No he didnt, he lost and was later appointed chancellor by the winner.

Also trump didnt takeover, he won an election. Trump represents america whether you like it or not. Its funny how people outside america aren’t nearly as surprised he won.
