Yeah, the guy’s read a lot of Charles Bukowski and Harvey Pekar, so it’s not surprising that he has a great way of telling slice-of-life stories. Not to mention he did a lot of interviews of major punk rockers and related writing.

The movie poster’s a bit misleading; Bruce Willis only has a supporting role here. Josh Duhamel (who I’m not familiar with, looks like he did a lot of TV stuff and Transformer movies?) is the star, and Vicent D’Onofrio (Pvt Pyle in Full Metal Jacket, Kingpin in Daredevil) is the main antagonist. D’Onofrio is always fun to watch as he’s usually cast as somewhat crazed characters, and in this case he plays a white supremacist gang leader with a swastika tattoo on his chest, speaking in what seems to be some kind of Southern accent (which D’Onofrio doesn’t quite pull off…) Vinnie Jones (Snatch) and 50 Cent have appearances as opposing gang members, and a lot of the other supporting roles are played by people you’ll kind of recognize from similar roles in the past. The movie’s fairly predictable but it’s not bad as background noise.
Next time, consider getting a pedicure. They’re very relaxing.
Doesn’t look that great, but… I believe I saw Toby from The Office.
Mike Judge is an executive producer too. Looks awesome.
Maybe he’s in England.

Hey there, I grew up in Latin America though I live in the US now. There’s a Mexican lemmy instance posting in spanish, https://mujico.org/ but for some reason it seems to have federation problems.
Those don’t seem to have the yellow stitching that Docs do. The heel looks just a little too high to be “regular” combat boots. The way the tongue bends suggests cheap synthetic material, rather than leather. If you go to amazon and search for “vegan combat boots” you’ll find a lot of cheaply-made fashion boots for under $50, I’m guessing it’s something like that.
(just realizing I miss !streetwear@lemmy.world … thanks for carrying it for so long, @Jilanico@lemmy.world!)
“In some dark corners, this killer is being hailed as a hero. Hear me on this: He is no hero.”
Then he is silent, as he has a Realization: he is One with the Universe.
He is enlightened. He has become a Bruddah.
Amazed that Danny DeVito gets roles like this after Always Sunny. Good for him, though! Bet they paid him a bundle and he did it all in one take.
Iggy Pop, “The Godfather of Punk”, has a message for you…
Although [Iggy] Pop has had limited commercial success, he has remained a culture icon and a significant influence on a wide range of musicians in numerous genres. The Stooges’ album Raw Power has proved an influence on artists such as Sex Pistols,[13] the Smiths,[14] and Nirvana.[15] His solo album The Idiot has been cited as a major influence on a number of post-punk, electronic and industrial artists including Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and Joy Division,[16] and was described by Siouxsie Sioux as a “re-affirmation that our suspicions were true: the man is a genius.”[17]

C’mon y’all. You know if you go to a non-chain Latino restaurant nobody’s calling the cops.
Yeah fam I thought the audio was excellent. I watched the trailer twice, listened to the Taylor Holmes recording, then watched the trailer again. The cryptic numbers, the audio hiss and the eventual comprehension of a recitation that recalls fallen empires and the daily suffering of marching soldiers, it all blends brilliantly with the preview video being shown.

Woah! There was a relevant post on !cat@lemmy.world recently: https://lemmy.world/post/22951688 and someone said coffee is toxic to cats… dunno if that’s true or not tho.
Yeah, at some point it will become just like cable TV, which I don’t watch, so… There’s plenty of other stuff out there.
I’m sure they’ll just add a fine next month: “using residence for unauthorized life event” or “reducing number of occupants without permission” or something.
