I find the same on the left wing. Everytime I put out a slightly right wing position I get attacked and a ton of down votes.
Every time anyone mentions on Lemmy right wing positions it is with only to attack a strawman version that is very removed from what most right wing people think/do.
right to work means you can have a job in a union shop without joining the union.
My grandpa was a snow plow driver for the state of MN (retired sometimes in the 1990s), but as a republican was always opposed to the union. He still paid union dues, but they were reduced and kept in a separate fund by the union and only used for contract negotiations (important for him - he was a big republican and the union political funds of course donates to democrats). Since he wasn’t a member of the union he couldn’t vote on union leadership, but the leadership called him one of their best people there because he always attended the union meetings where contacts were discussed. As you can start to see not being a union member when there is a union is really complex weird. I’m sure there is more about this that I don’t know about (one obvious thing - what if they voted to go on strike)
I’m going to wait and see - there are always unintended consequences and sometime those are bad enough to kill and otherwise good idea. Other times they mean you need to tweak with the simple program to make it work. And as always politicians will have their hand in the whole thing and might completely mess up the implementation until it looks nothing like the name.
When I go to the grocery store I see this - many carts are filled with “junk food”. Meanwhile I don’t even go down those aisles.
I’ve met some bike people like that. And others who think the bike is about a nice sunday ‘fitness’ ride to a bar and not useful for any other trip.
It is over $1000 per moth for me that I’m turning away. there is just no way anyone can compete with that. much as I don’t like my insurance my costs must go up by a lot if I skip my companies insurance.
It has been so long I don’t recall how polaroid compared to 110. I had a disc as a kid so I recall how disapointed I was in it. come to think of it the ‘polaroids’ I remember were kodak before they lost the patent battle and recalled them all.
That is one subset of the public. Another subset has a problem that their cars are stuck in traffic, and they don’t see bikes as an answer for them. (nor do they see how much worse car traffic would be if those bikes were cars instead)
The public is not a single entity with a single concern.
110 was much better quality photos and had the same ease of starting. Polaroid has much higher quality prints, though they were limited to exactly one size, while in theory you could enlarge disk to larger. With the grain being so bad I don’t know why anyone would (though the article implies that good development processes were not as grainy - but I never saw that)
I recall kodak advertising it to the people who owned nice 35mm - for places you wouldn’t take the expensive camera.
Isn’t this a bug in chatgpt? Someone needs to file a high priority bug report. I wonder if they can be sued for their tool being used for abuse - gun makers are trying hard to prevent that, if you disagree with that, then you should demand chatgpt be held responsible for how their tool is used.
Each picture was more than a dollar each - adjust for inflation and more than $3 each. for grainy low quality photos since that flat camera didn’t allow for good lenses.
I hate watches. Back before pocket phones (I’m old enough to remember when car phones were a thing for the rich) I carried a pocket watch instead of a wrist watch like most people had. Once I got a flip phone which fit in my pocket I stopped using the pocket watch. (I don’t remember why I had both a “candy bar” phone and a pocket watch)
I think I was in my 20s when I realized that some people/kids actually believe in Santa. I was aware of Christmas/Santa, but that it was just a story nobody thought was real. At least I wasn’t the girl I met about that time who was telling her friends in first grade that Santa wasn’t real.
I belong to of those rare Christian sects that don’t believe in Christmas.

The exhaust could be a problem but this is clearly the transmission which should noteget that hot. Fire investigators traced the fire to hot transmission fluid leaking from seals that failed because of temperature.
depends on size but larger trailers and a gas engine will do far worse than half. That is why semis are diesel. My diesel truck is 18mpg unloaded but max towing drops down to 12. A ford f150 would get 20-25 unloaded but towing could get around 8.
you are talking about much smaller trailers than what I’m thinking about above so you will do better but I don’t know how much.
Just get a tent if you must camp. the nice ones are still only 100lbs and will pack in your suv. Throw in a camp stove and cooler and you get most of what you want.
don’t forget about hotels. The savings in fuel will buy a mid grade hotel room every night, often with money left over for a meal. RVs only make sense if you are staying in one place for a week for each day of travel.
I knew a guy who bought a small truck (30 years ago) and towed well over rated weight, he got where he was going 200 miles down the road and when he parked over some weeds they started on fire from his overheated transmission, truck was totaled - manufecture denighed warranty coverage and is insurance refused to cover it. they were making payments for a while an a truck that was scrapped.
They don’t hurt, but they still do not feel nice.
