People aren’t responsible for how they’re born. Being born into a family that’s benefitted from human suffering is out of their control.

Having more guns than people means that the more people you piss off, the less safe you are.

I feel like we’ve made more progress in our national discussion regarfing healthcare since the assassination than we have in the previous 10 years.

Pickups, SUVs, and Vans in America are getting unreasonably large because of poorly-written environmental regulation.

In the mid-2000s, automakers were classifying everything as a “truck” to skirt CAFE (fuel economy) standards. The tilling point was the PT Cruiser being regulated as a truck. So, starting in 2012, CAFE standards started to be based on vehicle footprint.

Ever notice how all the little trucks like the S-10, Dakota, and the old-style Ranger all had 2011-ish as their last year model?

Suddenly, small trucks became effectively illegal, and as fuel economy standards get tougher every few years, the automakers have learned it’s easier to just make the footprint bigger than it is to make the fuel economy better. They’ve since re-released the Ranger, but now it’s bigger than the F-150 used to be.

And now it’s hit the vans. CAFE outran the small cargo van footprints, so the Nissan NV200, Ford Transit Connect, and RAM Promaster City have all been discontinued in the last 2-3 years because they can’t make cargo-hauling vehicles that size any longer.

New York City’s Taxi Fleet changed to NV200s a few years back to improve accessibility, and now they can’t buy replacement vehicles without either dropping the accessibility and going small or moving to fuck-you-sized vehicles.

The one neat thing though is the Ford Maverick. It’s a small 4-seat truck with a half-size bed that comes standard as a hybrid (trafitional ICE is an “upgrade” so it meets CAFE) for like 25 grand. The only real problem is buying one since they only made like 4 of them.

Howard Dean would have been president, but he cheered weird that one time, so didn’t get the nomination.

We have a second amendment specifically to give the citizens teeth. The idea isn’t to overthrow the military, it’s to make enrollee potential threat.

The more people those in power piss off, the more danger they’ll be in. The way they’ve been treating us, they should all be terrified to step outside.

He could have done the math and thought if they were arresting him and going through his stuff, there was a good chance they would already have enough to hang him. While scattering the evidence would increase the odds of them finding something they could trace back to him.

Look at it this way - where do you keep your wallet? Do you leave it somewhere until you need it, or do you keep it on your person so you know exactly where it is at all times?

It would provide an explanation for him keeping the gun.

I’m saying they’ll just say it’s a copycat and use that to go after our rights.

At least Xbox provides a platform and Walmart and Gamestop provide physical products at physical locations.

Steam doesn’t have those expenses. And they also have exclusive titles, just like EGS.

I’m torn.

Yes, murder is bad.

But when someone is responsible for thousands of deaths and will continue to willingly kill for money, is taking them out justifiable?

If the CEO had been firing a weapon into a crowd, there’s no question that killing him would have been justified. Is the fact that he killed with memos and board meetings rather than a gun actually relevant?

Better make 3D printers illegal. It’s the only way to be safe.

Unless he was planning on targeting more. Then keeping the firearm might make some sense, as well as a note in case he’s caught that would explain his actions whether he’d killed 1 or 20 health insurance leeches.

You think Valve taking an extortionate amount of the budget doesn’t affect you as a consumer?

Games have budgets. With Valve taking as much money as the actual development budget for many games, the end product is significantly impacted. Games are regularly released late while missing features and so buggy as to not work. The extra 18% of the gross taken up by Valve versus EGS could be used to put more resources into the actual game.

If they charged less.fpr the platform, they’d still be raking in more than they can spend while also not taking an extra 20% out of game development budgets versus the competition.

Bad companies can make good products.

I’m refuting the idea that fanservice leads to lasting institutional change.

Steam also has anti-consumer policies. They just hide it better.

You think the reasen that games that are on both platforms don’t cost 20% more on Steam is because the devs love Gabe?

He’s a fucking billionaire who makes infinite money running an app store that takes a bigger cut of the game’s income than the combined pay of all the developers working on the game combined.
