We probably could ramp up some production here to survive this. But for it to actually work the way it’s proposed the general population will need to give up certain luxuries that are only available via import. And I can’t see that ever happening. The average American isn’t going to sacrifice anything for the greater good.
Just got informed last week that we didn’t meet the qualifications to get a bonus this year.
The qualifications they didn’t tell us about.
The qualifications that we have no control over.
No bonus because people higher in the chain didn’t meet specific goals. (Pretty sure they are still getting a bonus because rank.)
I won’t meet the qualifications next year because I’ll be working somewhere else. The pay is low because bonuses make up for it (supposedly).
If you work at a hospital there’s a good chance you have a union and don’t face the same problems the rest of the workforce does.
You don’t win by just saying ‘get more Democratic votes’.
Trump won because he convinced people he was a solution for the corruption. If you want votes for someone else, offer specific solutions to address those concerns. People are fed up with politicians. If you want to sway those votes to blue you’re going to have to offer something beyond business as usual.
Working behind the scenes with retail pricing (not Walmart) I can say this is 100% how it works.
Also have been given a sheet listing all of my department’s products that were below a specific profit margin. Told that we had a sale coming in 2 weeks so make sure to raise prices on those before then so that I didn’t have a drop in my overall department sales. If the customers noticed and asked, we were to inform them the ‘sale’ was to offset the price hike that just happened because we were looking out for them.
I got a new cell phone right before a vacation a few months ago. I ‘hid’ the old cell phone so it wouldn’t get moved or wander off while I was out of town because I still needed to transfer everything.
I’m sure I’ll find it someday.
Also, I low-key think she deserves some punishment for having such a tacky gold plated 1911 in the first place…
