I’m a pagan.

Had Christian upbringing since I remember, so would consider myself Christian most of my life, was a real firm believer for more than a few years as well. Was in my late 20s when I really starting poking on those believes critically and it just crumbled. I still believed there is something more. Weirdly, I didn’t really deny the possible existence of Christian god - I just refused him.

I was in this weird limbo for years - not an antheist, not Christian, not really religious but believing there is something more on spiritual level but didn’t do anything with it because I couldn’t identify it. Kinda afraid of Hell, but also didn’t want to suck it up and return to Christianity just out of fear (realized I had quite enough of it as a kid).

Then I randomly read something on modern paganism and something just clicked for me. Looked into it more and it just felt right.

I was introduced to Stargate with Czech voiceover in the TV. Seen episodes in Czech up to 6th season, later got to seasons 7 and 8 in English from a friend. I then rewatched the whole thing in English and I’ve been watching in English ever since.

The Czech voiceover was really quite good, superb actually. But I’m happy I got to watch the originals - especially Atlantis. I don’t think Dr. Zelenka would be as special with all the other voiceover being Czech as well. I still remember the double take I did when Rodney was asking for “the Czech” and the glee I felt when Zelenka was introduced with the lines in Czech.

It is the limitation of democracy and why it is the worst (except all the others) - because it allows this.

How to fix this? These would be a good start: don’t polarize the society like this and create us vs. them mentality. In place of power hungry populists have people in charge who want the best for the country. Don’t enable fascists - they never should make it this far. Respect other people. Invest in education so people understand these basics.

And this is not just about US. It’s scary that this is wherr us got because they are such a big player on the world stage

Unfortunately in such polarized times like now, even though majority wants this, the ammount of people for which this is unacceptable is only slightly less than “the majority”. And besides, I believe a big part of “the majority” is just gullible enough to be persuaded they want this while it actually goes against their interests

I’d love a study on what kind of masters the bloodthirsty dogs have. I’m willing to bet those dogs had masters that encouraged the behavior or got them because the breed is macho and never intended to be responsible about it.
