My fav is the Killing album… I’m very very old school! Can’t bother with any album after that anymore. Sorry…
Dave used to be one of my heroes, even had a huge backpatch of Peace Sells back in the eighties, but for me he kept going in directions that didn’t interest me. I liked the drunk punk, not the religious technical fiddler.
On the Peace Sells album, the drum sound kills it for me these days. I love the old Killing mix, if you adjust your EQ, it’s so fucking raw and full of energy! They were out to prove something to the world, and for me they just lost that vibe after that album…
So not to grind anyone’s gears, but that’s just how my head works.
Oh and one funny anecdote: I won a signed vinyl of So Far on a radio quiz back in the day! 😄

No need to say sorry for your opinion man, we all got em. Cool stories too! I never got into them at all during my school years, I thought Mustaine was so prima donna, being a Metallica kid lol but after growin up I find Megadeth and Mustaine to definitely have merit. I mean how did they become one of the ‘big four’ if they didnt? :D

I can understand that. For me it would be Suicidal Tendencies.
Exodus is another “issue” for me, as I only like Bonded. With Zetro, they got more Anthrax-y jokey and more AC/DC, while Bonded was full on thrash fucking mania, and thus one of my fav albums ever!
ST never turned me off, has a great range in styles and did it all in top form. Their later work may be not as urgent anymore, but it’s still good and worthwile.
I’m still trying later Exodus stuff from time to time though, but could not get into it so far…

Have you tried Tempo of the Damned yet? I feel it still has some elements of their early aggression, with a more modern edge. Much less of a punk vibe though. For me, every release of theirs is amazing. But I am biased with them being my favourite band :D. I’m personally not as much a fan of the Rob Dukes era compared to the rest but it is still great stuff. If you are after sheer aggression then I would check out songs like The Beatings Will Continue, Blood in Blood Out. That’s of the modern era. From the older era, if you haven’t already: Thrash Under Pressure, Verbal Razors. Also check the entire TotD album which I mentioned earlier.

While Exodus isn’t really anywhere near my favorite, I think it would still be the best contender for a 5th. I suppose it’s because of the time frame of their releases, relative to the other four, and being located in the USA. Not to mention their success more than any other band NOT being Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth or Anthrax.
