  • Nevermind the Tax stuff. I was soooooo looking forward to his gun charge going to court.

if you don’t know, he was charged with perjury because when you buy a gun you have to check a box that says you haven’t abused drugs in 90 days or some shit. With this SCOUTS, it would be hard to imagine this provision surviving a challenge. After all, if we accept that buying a gun is a right, then some government agency can’t deny you that with an arbitrary rule.

The gun nuts would be forced to choose between persecuting Trump’s enemies and gun rights.

I’ve always suspected that many of these kinds of images were staged or propaganda.

Every so often you’ll see a meme on Reddit with a bunch of American teenagers being athletic in the 60s. The meme suggests that people were healthy and fit back then, but I happen to know that the footage was for a physical fitness push at the time (gotta do more pushups than the commies) and the athletes were far from typical students.

  • This criticism of democracy is way older than Kennedy. Socrates thought democracy impossible due to the ignorance of the common person.

And that’s what this is, an argument against democracy. A vote cast by a shut-in illiterate who chooses candidates based on their astrology sign is just as valid as the chair of the political science department. Anything less than that is an argument for weighted or exclusive suffrage. You can believe in democracy or the “low information” voter, but not both.
